Birmingham’s Tall Bike Joust started in the early 2010s as a fun way for Redemptive Cycles to raise awareness for Birmingham’s only non-profit community bike cooperative. The event grew over the years and became the Redemptive’s most popular and anticipated event of the year, drawing hundreds of spectators and participants.

Athletic Alabama has since partnered with our friends at Redemptive Cycles to take over the crowd pleasing event! The bikes and “lances” are provided—all you have to bring is a sense of adventure and a friendly sense of competition!

The Annual Tall Bike Joust is a fundraiser to support Redemptive Cycles' charitable Earn-A-Bike, Sliding Scale Repairs programs and our kids and young adult programs. This year the Joust will also benefit Athletic Alabama, whose mission is to restore value in communities and people through sports and recreation.
